Well most folks don't have a air compressors. And apartment owner don't really like for you to have a 30 to 60 gallon 220 volt compressor in the apartment.

My new shop does not have 220v yet, just a long 12/3 extension cord from the house, so I got one of those 1/2" drive electric impactors from Harbor Freight (don't usually go that route for heavy duty applications but took a chance). It works quite well for the time being, and sure saves my back from the necessary twisting required to remove lug nuts (gives me a bit more stamina for lifting the wheels into place).

I went all out.... removed the wheels, two at a time. Sprayed them with Castrol SuperClean, a great water-soluble degreaser, VERY aggressive stuff, so find gloves. Scrubbed the rims inside and out, REALLY well; I mean I want these rims to look good for a loooong time, so I'm going all out with the prep. (Tried to keep the degreaser off the Michelins, I believe it'll dry out the expensive rubber...) A thorough rinse, on a hot day, so it doesn't take too long to dry. I got a matte black rim paint (probably high temp tough paint) from Canadian Tire, and created a hand mask out of cardboard and gave the rims many coats inside and out; one rattle can per pair at 12.99 per can. They look really good now!

Well yes and no. Yes because they are manual meaning I have to go to the back seat and turn them on myself and they are not attached to the car in anyway. They also appear to be yellow in the day time. No because they look red as a commie at night. But I never usually turn them on unless I'm showing the car off

I cleaned my wheels with purple power / water 50/50mix, bought high temp engine black, and high temp engine gloss. Cleaned wheels good let dri and gave 2 coats of black followed by 4 coats of gloss. Bought plastidip black spray and painted my center caps (can be peeled off if wanted) finished with trim rings. looks amazing people think i have rims while im driving. the gloss clear coat is keeps the rims shining. will try to post pics.
