Every time I start the car it revs pretty hi for a while. With no tach its hard to say at what RPM,but it just seems to last too long,Is this normal?

There is a mod for this on one of the mustang forums. Those guys didn't like the high engine speed in between shifts. It also worked the the high idle at start for a while. I'll bet Jake knows which one and might even get it for us and post in the DYI.

I thought that was built in to the program on the CVPI's to help compensate for the draw of all of the radios and other electrical equipment. Mine does the same thing when i start mine, but it doesn't run at high idle for very long.
Mine does too. It bothered me at first, but now I am just used to it.

It just seems unnecessary on a civilian car without all the radio, lights, police equipment. There must be a fix. Something to do with the idle circuit.
Mine does the same...mostly when cold starting, I don't notice it much after that.
buy a huge stereo system with a 5000W HP amp and 4 12 AMP subs in the trunk, it'll draw some powerMine turns over hard at cold start and idles high until it gets to normal operation temp. I'm sure this can be adjusted with a tuner.
The high idle at cold start is supposed to be there. Even my wife's Subaru does it. I don't know what they call it on the injected-computer controlled cars but on the old carb cars it was the automatic choke kicking in.
