No such thing as a cop chip.

I've heard of tuning down when decommisioned but only on the older models......don't know if that's a myth or not though to be quite honest
I think our models 2004 and up are set up from the factory with these flash tunes though because of the larger air box and 80mm maf.....can someone on the forum verify this?

They are not de-tuned when retired, cost too much for one thing.

Re: Dash-top, plug in tuners and or chips???

I have pissed off a lot of the ( stupid ones any way )CVPI owners around my area by asking them if the COP Chip was left in, They all say Yeah Man. So I say take me for a ride, show me. They do and I start laughing at them, telling them the Cop Chip has been removed. Come on and ride in one that still has it ( most of them know that the wig-wags still work and it still has the siren in it, so maybe I'm telling the truth ) so I take them for a ride in Cracker and just before it kicks out of first I say now I'm going to floor it and cut in the 125 HP boost nitrous. Now they feel like shit and are hunting a way to get "The Cop Chip" back in theirs.

    ^^^ Love it...lol
I will tell you this though, if you didn't have the nitrous and just decide that N/A was good enough for you.......A Cold air intake, a SCT 93 race tune with highflow cats is the way to go. If anyone does that mod and then decided to put in 3.73's oooooof.
Like night and day, you'll never want de-tune after that.
But that's the beauty of these tuners, if your pockets empty this month you can tune back down to 87 again and take full advantage of the benefits of the lower octane fuel without your car running like crap.

I have to add.......those are probably the 2 mods.....cai and tuner combo and gears that will give you the most bang for the buck if you don't want to go forced induction.
