    Really Stiff Steering

My baby is in the hospital right now because of some very stiff steering. She gives me a lot of resistance when I try to turn left at low speeds. Don't seem to notice it at 70+ but at 40 and lower its very obvious. Almost feels like no power steering. My mechanic is attempting to fix it but he hasn't given me any real causes yet. What do you guys think?

My Mechanic is still baffled he is apparently having a ford specialist come tomorrow to check it.

I haven't a clue. I know very little about engines and what not. Picking her up today still unfixed. They recommended I go to an alignment place to get it checked.

Sorry I wasn't feeling well the day I posted this so I made it short. You probably thought I was nuts. If you look under the hood find the steering shaft, follow it down and you will see it has ( a rather poor design ) offset (a dog Bone ) with small u-joints. Take WD-40 or PB Blaster and soak all of them down real good, let it sit for a hour or so and if steers good you know that the u-joints are bad. THIS IS NOT A FIX! I don't know if you can have the u-joints replaced or not. You will probably have to buy the complete dog bone assembly.
