    Headlight problem

Several months ago I told everyone about a problem with my headlights. Drivers side headlight and blinker fine, passenger side very dim.

Found a ground wire not attached and soon as it's grounded to the battery everything is fine. But, after about 40 minutes of driving all lights shut off without warning. Even the dash lights.

If you shut them off for about 2-3 minutes you can run for another while. If you disconnect the ground wire it's back to one dim headlight but runs forever that way. The city replaced 2 LCMs, I have plugged in a couple more and it repeats the same behavior.

A guy at the auto parts store suggested a "headlight relay". Does this sound possible to you folks and where would I find such a critter? I think he said in some kind of box under the hood. Thanks in advance

    Re: Headlight problem

I was thinking LCM also. City of Augusta put 2 in with 7 months, I've put 2 in. I have noticed there is a cluster of wires going into the LCM that is real warm. I'm disabled so I have to get someone to crawl under the dash deep enough. The guy at autozone (that says a lot to start with) claims there is something under the hood on the passenger side that needs to be replaced. Thanks for all the help.

Definitely do a headlight relay mod. If it doesn't fix the problem, you'll know where the problem isn't, and it's a good upgrade to do even if you aren't having problems.
