Here's one to work your noggins on;
When flashing highbeams, only the driver's side bulb goes into highbeam. Passenger's bulb remains lowbeam.
When pushing highbeams full on, passenger's bulb goes off completely.
What's up wit dat?!?

Passenger high beam wire was cut for the wig-wag flasher installation. And not reconnected when car was decommissioned. I have the same issue but cant for the life of me figure out where its cut.
You can cheat and run a wire from power from drivers headlight to passengers headlight.

I had to run a wire from passenger headlight to driver headlight to get low Beam still no High Beams unless I pull back for the flash and pass .I have search the harness and can't find the problem I am thinking it is the headlight relay in the ECM
Try a new bulb, DO NOT touch the glass part with your fingers.

Hey,
Look behind the grill on the cross brace in front of the radiator. There is a white plug with a green wire that shold be looped and go back into the plug. The green wire is cut for the wigwags. All I had to do was strip the wire and crimp them together for both my lights to start working.
Elwood: You don't like it?
Jake: No I don't like it...
[Elwood Blues floors the pedal and jumps over an open drawbridge]
Jake: Car's got a lot of pickup.
Elwood: It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?
Definitely do a headlight relay mod. If it doesn't fix the problem, you'll know where the problem isn't, and it's a good upgrade to do even if you aren't having problems.You could modify the install some to use the wires you have that still work as needed.
Thanks for the replys. Seems like it's a problem that's encountered by many p71 owners. Quite a few have indentified it as being caused by the "wig-wag wiring" being cut pre-retirement of the vehicle. BUT, wouldn't that make it a problem endemic to ALL post-service p71s? Assuming that they all had wig-wag mods. Also, first thing I tried was a new bulb, actually bought two 'cause I thought if one had died the other might be due for a change as well. Problem remained.
As well as how it was uninstalled. If it was just ripped out it's a problem, but if it's done right, NBD.
x's 2 on the relay upgrade. The factory wiring is less than desirable.
