Re: K&N FIPK - Cold Air Intake.

hey guys, here is a dynoed comparo with the MZT mod and tune, versus a CAI and a tune (even though its not k&N it still gonna be the same results. basically K&N with tune vs MZT with tune is pretty darn close. heres the link..

MZT gives about 3 more HP and about 5 pds TQ over cheaper CAI.

conclusion? if you want the stock look then go with MZT, if your going for money vs mods then the CAI and a tune is close enough to save about 200 bucks.

Re: K&N FIPK - Cold Air Intake.

NOTE TO ABOVE POST: if you go with just the CAI or Marauder type intake and no tune the numbers are identical. only after you get a tune (a must with the MZT) are the numbers ever so slightly different. then you get 3 hp and 5 pds tq more with the MZT. when you get the MZT you get a 80 mm MAF vs stock 70 MM. in theory you could get a cheap CAI, adapt the 80 mm MAF and a tune and save 200 -240 bucks.

Re: K&N FIPK - Cold Air Intake.

the previous owner of my 04' made a big oopsey when he cut a hole in the top of the air filter box, he "fixed" it will 1/4" rubber material and 7-8 screws. i want to replace the box, or get a cold air intake, or just a open air filter. i've been searching and seaching for any of these but with no avail, any suggestions?

If you want to just replace the top cover any 2004 and probably up a few years should work. Check the wrecking yards. Also clean the MAF very gently.
