    Steering

whats up guys, i seem to have stumbled across a small problem with my steering. when im going down the road the wheel tends to favor tilting left instead of staying straight. im thinking this is a alignment problem but i dont know for sure.
"So let me get this straight....you just dialed 911..so you could teach your daughter how to use it?...no offense but you have your head up your friggin ass.

In the Fort Worth area I take all my cars to Tom's brake and front end shop on Belknap St. These two guys have been around a long time and do the job right the first time.

alright thanks, ill have it checked out up there. i do have another small problem with it, i suspect the ball joints are going out because when i slowly turn the wheel to the left or right it squeaks really loud.

Let Tom's check it out for you and let you know what it needs. They didn't charge me a thing to do that, and they are real honest people.

hey pecos, let me know what they say about your steering issue, cause mine squeaks too, and the polyurethane bushings around the ball joints are eaten away, thanks

    Re: Steering

That was wheelman having the squeaking problem. I had them check both of mine for any frame damage and alignment before I dropped a bunch of money into it.

    Re: Steering

Think my car might have some frame damage actually, when I go over pot-holes the squeaking seems to stop for about a month and a half, I'm wondering if maybe the entire steering assembly is shifting left and right.

I'm wondering now if my car is having a ball joint issue. everytime i turn the wheel to full lock or close to it and turn, i get a knocking sound that can be felt inside the car. I can never tell where it's coming from, though.

    Re: Steering

probably the ball joint, have a buddy pop the hood and listen to it while you turn the wheel, if its coming from left or right side its a ball joint, if its in the middle more or less it could be the control-arm. Both are pretty cheap to replace either way.
