He's got a 4v 4.6L in that car! Shoot... I would be happy with just that!
i would spend my $$ on a turbo of supercharging system nitrous destroys engines quickly. plus the fact that you have a compressed bottle of flameable gas in youre car(it would make me uneasy
Nitrous does little if any damage to a engine ( if you don't go overboard with it) The kit I have ordered can be set to 25HP gain to 150HP gain. I will probably go with the 125HP to start with. Nitrous is a NON flammable gas. I would have to worry more about the 20 gallons of gasoline that is in the tank. The kit with 10 lb tank is $423.

Nitrous is cool but in most states extremely illegal. I'm more on pure horsepower rather than the nitrous. Not knocking anyone who does use or have it. If you are running nitrous, I hope you have a damn good braking system to slow down and stop. Crown Vics are heavy vehicles about the same weight of a full size suv.

1. I don't get people who do a rear mounted turbo system. First of all... you have to steer clear of ANY water and road debris.
2. You will loose quite a bit of what that turbo can do by pushing it through all that tubing under the car.
NOS.... I don't know... you sure would decrease the life of your engine by doing a lot of WOT pulls. (you know you will just because you have NOS on board)
I had NOS system on my 5.0 Mustang when I had that car with 95K on it and only a 60 hp wot kit and in about 8.000 miles the engine went BOOM and I mean BOOM and mine was a smog legal kit for Calif,So after that im not a real big fan of NOS anymore but thats just my opinion
Have you been chased by a P71 FORD LATELY, Jeff Wellons Ramona,Calif 2001 CVPI with 105K
the most HP per $ is nitrous. The thing you have to be careful with is to shut the supply of nitrous off before shutting your car off because solenoids can leak. It is a pain in the butt to shut the valve off to the tank, give the car a quick full throttle jab to release any that might be in the line, before shutting down the engine. If nitrous leaks into the manifold and any cylinder that has an open valve and you fire up the car it can blow the intake off the engine in pieces. They have electric tank valves that can shut the nitrous off with the flip of a switch, but there again you have another solenoid.
I would love to get my HP up with major engine mods but with what I want ( not half assed) would run around 6 to 10 grand.
That's my story and Im sticking to it.LOL

Most states have no Statutes regarding the use of nitrous on the street. They regulate street racing. If you are using N2O, you are most definitely violating either a racing, exhibition of speed or some other regulation the least of which will be speeding since N2O is only activated at WOT.
Since you are not a commercial vehicle, it is not an issue transporting a compressed gas especially when the cylinder is secure in its bracket.
A new CV weighs just 200 more pounds than a Mustang GT500 and 500 less than an Explorer. 3903/4100/4600. N2O is only functionally an oxidizer when exposed to the temperatures of a fire including combustion so it is much more stable than pure oxygen. If you follow all NHRA/IHRA rules for system installation, it is safe on the street. Booms on street systems happen when someone takes shortcuts in installation. You should have an oil pressure switch for your fuel pump, you should have a WOT switch, you should use a window switch to prevent over revving your engine and you should be able to disarm your system while strapped in. You should be pulling timing from your engine even with small systems if you want to be conservative.
