    Shocks and springs

I'm looking to replace to the springs and possibly the shocks on my cvpi. Yesterday while in pursuit of a robbery suspect on one of my properties, I had to go up over a curb to apprehend the suspect. While doing so I bottomed out hardcore which made me feel like I don't have enough ground clearance for simple operations. Any suggestions on replacements? What kind of skid plates should I use?

I would hate to go over curbs it that Hummer, it would probably bend or bust those rims.

Yes I caught him after a brief foot chase that concluded with deploying my taser on him. He made me bottom out my baby so I had to make him hit the ground to!

Did you bottom out the rear of the vehicle? Does the back end sag at all or does the car still have a slight rake during normal driving?

The rear does have a slight sag to it. That's why i'm looking to replace the springs 4 ways around. The middle of the car is what bottomed out. That's why I want to replace the springs and hopefully get more ground clearance for the areas I have to patrol and the calls I have to respond to.

P71 springs are supposed to give you the most ground clearance. Stiffer shocks will help control rebound. To go higher you could add Cargo Coils in the rear but your handling would change slightly because of the rake. You could also go with a taller tire and then change your speedo driven gear. A 1" change in tire height will give you 1/2" change in ride height.

I found some OEM replacements at pep boys, but I haven't gone through with it yet. I was thinking about using MONROE shocks all the way around to decrease the amount of rebound. Monroe makes a shock for the p71 that is rated for towing. I have been doing the research to determine if those are the shocks I want to put on my vic or not. Any suggestions on shocks and springs? I don't want the mushy ride of a p72 or 73.
